We were approached by the owners of this Grade II Listed Building in West Berkshire. They wanted to remove unsightly modern extensions and create a family Kitchen with Living and Dining spaces. They also required a new Utility Room, Boot Room, Pantry and WC.
We proposed a sympathetic extension with contemporary elements which integrates succesfully with the existing house. Alterations to the existing building complemented the design.
Taking advantage of the site's fantastic views was key, as was maximising daylight and creating interest as you move through the building. Cosy spaces flow into each other, while the hright and glazing in the Kitchen have real impact.
The extension vastly improves the thermal performance of the house and the installation of underfloor heating ensures year round comfort.
Planning Permission and Listed Building Consent were granted and the owners are delighted with the improvements to their home and day to day living.
