Frequently mistaken as an entirely new property now that its transformation is complete, Lake House was in fact built in the 1960’s.
Brown brick elevations were fitted with dark stained wooden windows and felt covered roofs provided poor levels of insulation. Nevertheless the building had a distinctive form and extensions now provide a new living room, guest suite, breakfast room, winter garden and sun terrace in an attractive and contemporary split level angular style which is extensively glazed. New stairs have been created and the layout rearranged to provide four further bedrooms, bathrooms, a study and games room.
With its main entrance relocated and a rendered external finish, aluminium windows and folding sliding doors sit beneath a pre-weathered zinc roof. An illuminated water feature and all domestic water supplies are pumped from a new borehole.
