Stunning rural contemporary home granted planning permission

A replacement home in an AONB

We are delighted to have secured planning consent for this highly contemporary new single-storey family home. Set in an estate of 11 acres and situated within the Chilterns AONB it will replace a much extended 1930's bungalow, providing modern and sustainable accommodation for our clients, a family of five. The design solution adopted will maximise the use of natural daylight and provide a strong connection between the house, its garden and the wider landscape beyond.

The building will be highly efficient in terms of thermal performance. Air source heat pumps will provide heating and hot water, and a MVHR (mechanical ventilation and heat recovery) system is proposed.  Where elevations are not glazed they will be clad with square profiled oak or sweet chestnut cladding which will be allowed to silver naturally over time. High performance windows will be specified as they are such an important part of the building's sleek aesthetic.
